Course recommendations
Just don't choose your courses before getting there. I was lucky because my first choice (in Brussels) was not definitive. You definitely have to attend the lectures before selecting them.

Personal comments
Facilitating the contacts between international and local students because the latter usually treat us like lazy clubbers who don't care about the lectures. Some international students are really struggling with the lectures and the language itself so it would be useful to help them. To share your notes with an Erasmus student is not a CRIME !

I couldn't open an account in a bank !! Fortunately I was paid cash so I didn't need to withdraw too much money from my French account, but it wasn't a pleasant surprise.

Food in the U.K. is much cheaper than in Japan. Traveling around is not so cheap as in Japan. However, I traveled so much and went out at night a lot, so totally, it was more expensive for me to live in MAnchester than in JApan.

The exchange rates are so important. You had better watch out. When I arrived there, 1 pound costed 150 yen. However, now it costs 200 yen! It can be a real big difference. YOu had better pay attention to the exchange rates.

Personal recommendation
The assistance provided for the international students is tremendous.
The location isn't really ideal regarding the weather but it's a lively city which represents England at its best. It's easy reaching distance of Scotland and Ireland which are superb places as well.
