There were some jazz clubs like the Band on the Wall that were OTT. The Infinity was THE nightclub. The Trafford Centre for shopping.
If you are a football fan (as I am) you have to pay a visit to Old Trafford and go to Moss Side to watch City (tickets are cheaper). Also Rusholme and its famous Curry Mile where I had the hottest curry I've ever had !!!

Well, before leaving France, I only knew what my teachers had taught me, from books, in high school and college. After 8 months there, I really had the chance to get the real oral English, and the course I went to improved my grammar... So it was pretty balanced, and then I managed to get the local accent !

At the beguinning, I had problems constructing a whole sentence. I couldn't understand my roomates either! Didn't have much vocabulary. But after a month, I begun to speak fluently with everybody. It was more a problem of practice, vocabulary and getting adapted to the numerous and diverse english accents!
