Studying in UK can be expansive but to put the needs of your studies first is a helpful way to prevent misery. The cost of daily living is farely good but it tthe cost of luxeries which can be prohibitive. Avoiding too much of it will help to finish your school without being in debt. There are so many temptations of borrowing money as so many credit companies offer students credit cards but this should be avoided

this is a beautiful university with top academics and high prestige in UK, it deserves much higher recognition in US as the princeton of europe

come here if you want the best all round university experience in an amazingly beautiful and friendly place with excellent extracurriculars and alumnae network - the place is quite traditional in a very fun way (formal dinners in the castle, ancient rowing club, etc)

I wish I had known more about the scholarships before applying so that I could have tried to meet the deadlines.In this case I missed most of the Scholarship deadlines and ended up applying for a student education loan.

When away from Home University,I would say one should make the most of it which would mean lots of travelling around because tomorrow you might not get the chance.one should make the most of one's stay and try to balance studies and social activities together making sure none are ignored.

There are plenty things to explore in the area - everybody should go North - Berwick, Holy Islands and so on. Plenty fab spots just around Durham. Don't miss Newcastle - one of the prettiest cities ever stayed in.
Also don't stick with students only - local community is worth exploring and making friends with. Won't regreat.

A really good university experience overall. Durham is a beautiful city to grow up in and the atmosphere created within it is very cosy and comforting.
Any complaints that you may have about the nightlife being poor (although you come to love it for this) you can resolve with having Newcastle 10 minutes away by train.
The general student population is very white and very posh, so bear this in mind when applying. That said, there are very down to earth students there and you will be able to make friends if rich and white isn't your vibe.

Durham is an incredibly prestigious university, and so the level of teaching is high. Staff are often reliable and will help you when you have a problem. The support system provided to students is extensive should you wish to use it.
However, the lack of support during year abroad planning had been surprising and disappointing, and means many students leave after the second year to embark on their year out without a concrete plan.
