“Best choice for history and French”

OverallThere's an endless amount of courses and support available regardless of whatever you choose to study. The campus and library are always updated and academic staff are always extremely helpful. There is also a lot of college support available which is great for anyone moving into halls for the first year and this continues throughout your time at the University.

It is best to get a student discount card for train travel at the start of the year, as using the trains is very, very expensive.

Final comments
It is definately a good university to attend for a year. Due to the small size of Durham, however, I am not sure I would like to stay any longer than that, as I am used to living in a big city.

Pros
High quality of education and professors who are experts in their field. Collegiate system makes the university experience feel more personal and opportunity to connect with like-minded others.
Cons
Cold weather! Quite a small 'city' so not so well suited for those preferring a more metropolitan lifestyle. More limited offer of courses and course combinations compared to some other universities, more traditional and general courses.
