Go and don't lose a minute of your time! it's a great city, full of students and social life. The exams are ok (not too difficult nor too easy). If you study law you will love it, as most of the international students there study law.

As it is in the center of Europe, you have great possibilities to travel. Ryanair flights to/from Belgium are very cheap. I visited: amsterdam, Paris, Luxemburg, Belgium (obviously!...do not miss Brugge!!), Stockholm, and Berlin.

Leuven has a very good system for accomodation based on the compilation of private offers in a database open to the public without any charge. The accomodation is mainly arranged directly with the owner of the place, avoiding the intervention of expensive real state agencies.

Normally students get not very good and expensive housing opportunities. Over all, if you arrive very late. Anyway, although I arrive late I manage to find a good house in a privilage place. I really like it.

My experience as a foreign student in Belgium
Phycothy R
Belgium, Graduate
Law, Criminal / Criminology, 2021
Overall
I joined Ku Leuven at the beginning of this year, being a new person in a foreign land wasn't easy at first but with time i learned to adjust. Studies have been interesting so  far, even with the current pandemic, our professors, technical services and subordinate staff have done their best with the life of a student in mind and so far they have delivered the very best in terms of on-line studies, and even with precautions and measures concerning covid-19, we are normally up-to-date, the school career services are also up to task with assistance in student jobs, job fairs and I couldn't be more  grateful, its been a great experience that has taken me personally to a whole different level

Course recommendations
"Independent study" is the key word here. You don't have as many papers/tests/quizes/presentations as you do in the US, so you have to research on your own to get the most out of this educational experience.
