Is always good to stick around with other people on the weekends, otherwise you'll have this "homesick" feeling...actually, you will get it anyways: just start working on that idea before you travel, it makes it easier to know you're expecting this than rather just have that feeling out of the blue.

Leuven rocks in everysense. Comparing it to my previous international experience (at the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School in Gent, Belgium) I can say that the student atmosphere is by far thousand times better. But, eventhough the city can offer everything, is still quite small. In that sense I think Gent is a better place to live, but Leuven a better place to interact with other international students and with the university itself.

I've worked and studied at the same time and been able to handle it perfectly. You should do it to...is a great way to make money to pay for expenses/travels/night outs, etc. For foreign students: you can apply for a work permit C at the city hall which allows you to work as a student 20 hours a week.
That it was so funny , i didn't expect so much fun from this experience ...but i also expeted more courses for my university

Living in Belgium is difficult for the weather and very easy for social relations. Leuven is the ideal town for students, it seems to have beeen created for students and for making their life full of interests and easier, but be careful about those who try to exploit you!

BYE A GO PASS, BECAUSE TRAINS ARE EXPENSIVE, AND EAT AT THE UNIVERSITY RESTAURANT CAUSE ITS SO CHEAP. VISIT HOLLAND(LEIDEN, DEN HAG, MAASTRICH). BRUGGE, AND ANTWERPEEN, AND LUXEMBURG, AND ALSO THERE ARE CHEAP FLIGHTS FROM BRUSSELS TO SWEEDEN AND MANY BEAUTIFUL COUNTRIES!
The cheapest places to do grosseries. Cheapest airline companies to travel from there.

The student environment is amazing! There are a lot of activities to do for free if you hold a student card. Everything in the town is made thinking about the students.

Cheapest airlines: Ryanair, wizzair, Virgin and Vueling.
Rent a bike as soon as you arrive. It is the best by far the best mean of transport in Leuven.
Look for a place in the center of the city. All of the action is there.
Study during the semester. The professors are demanding. Being an international student is not an excuse in Leuven!
