As I study English in Germany and spent some time in England and Australia before, it wasn't about the language at all. I was pretty fluent when I came to Long Beach but after my stay I had completely lost my accent and American became my second language. I improved especially in the everyday slang terms and I believe that I also enhanced my vocabulary in general.

English is very important, since is the business common language worldwide it´s kind of mandatory to practice or have an experience in an english spoken country. I had a lot of fun and I did learn a lot about the language and communication skills
