I wish I had known...
I wish I had found out more about the resident academic director who turned out to be very difficult to work with and not at all knowledgeable about the country.

Personal recommendation
The staff and professors at the Vietnamese university were excellent. As mentioned above, the resident academic director was less than stellar. However, the two Vietnamese program assistants were one of the best parts of the program.

Final comments
Saigon can wear on anyone who spends too much time there. We were fortunate enough to be able to travel throughout much of the country, including to Hanoi which was a gem. I would recommend this to anyone who goes to Vietnam, if only because the tourist industry is significantly more limited outside Saigon, allowing for a more authentic experience.

“Friendly and supportive environment to growth”

Overall
VNU (Hanoi) is considered as one of the biggest campuses in the whole city. It's really comfortable, has a football match, a specific area for indoor activities. The teachers are knowledgeable and supportive. The students are friendly, not always be competitive with each other, instead, they are very independent in their own ways of development. The University has numerous scholarships and opportunities (in many kinds) for students, ranging from financial support to experience oriented, sponsored by both domestic organizations and international funds and organizations.

It is very hot in Vietnam. If you use any particular brands of toiletries, you should bring them (as they are costly and difficult to obtain in Vietnam). Pack light as clothes can be tailored cheaply and pack what you can part with because the water will eat your clothes.

Accessibility of student needs
Second-hand household items
Personal comments
The cost of living should be the most expensive as food doesn't really cost that much. And, if you like to enjoy the night life, expect to have your cash dwindle. It is also customary for one person to pay for everyone, so if you go out in a group of locals, expect to be the one who pays the bill (there is no splitting).

Overall the courses were fantastic and extremely educational and very facinating. Some courses you could not get them anywhere else but through the program itself.
