VNU (Hanoi) is considered as one of the biggest campuses in the whole city. It's really comfortable, has a football match, a specific area for indoor activities. The teachers are knowledgeable and supportive. The students are friendly, not always be competitive with each other, instead, they are very independent in their own ways of development. The University has numerous scholarships and opportunities (in many kinds) for students, ranging from financial support to experience oriented, sponsored by both domestic organizations and international funds and organizations.

In 1994, Hanoi University, Hanoi Pedagogical University, and the University for Teachers of Foreign Languages merged to form Hanoi National University, the premier institution of higher learning for northern Vietnam. In 1995, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) was formed by merging Hanoi National University and seven other universities and colleges.
