Housing at this university is a little bit like a russian roulette: you can be very lucky or very unfortunate. I was more or less in the middle, living a little bit far from university but not too far, as other students. Anyways, just the fact that they look for a flat for you and save you that problem makes it worthy.
no; before leaving the home country I had lots of informations about the host country sent by the host university.

Tampere is the second city in Finland and its university is very good, courses, lecturers the environment of study is one of the best I've experienced.

Students have lots of possibilities to enjoy their stay in Finland especially thanks to the ESN network cooridinated by the finnish students. They do everything to make our stay the best.
I wish I'd known there are such a lot of practical courses taught in journalism (meaning a lot of work and few credits) and that the journalism department is politically biased, clearly left-wing.

A lot of courses in English. Cheap accommodation compared to the big European cities.
Cost werer usually on par with Ireland i.e pretty expensive. Phonecalls were costly and I never turned down the chance to travel.I don't regret the money spent on that.

The student union run a houehold utensil leading scheme that many people use. I bought all my stuff and kettle, etc in a second hand market for very little.Ask locals where they are.
