the advantage i had compared to other international students in sunderland is that i already spend two months in workplacement in Thetford (Cambridge/Norwich) UK were i couldn't speak a work of french, i had to use professional and technical vocabulary which made me learn faster. so i was very comfortable with my english when i came to sunderland, but i still improved it

the beach is the club were all the internatioanl students meet. it is small and the music is various. it is a very nice place for thursday nights (1£ entry). Otherwise, Manor Quay is much bigger but not as social for international, it's even hard to chat to someone. But good fun for the week end. Never go to the Q club

Try and travel as much as you can because there is so much to see in England and the UK, it's beautiful. But also make sure you check out the clubs and nightlife in Sunderland... it's a lot of fun!
