Rented accomodation is plentiful and, if you are quick, can be both cheap and beatifully located. In my fourth year, I had a huge room in a house near the harbour, looking out onto a garden with apond which attracted a great many wild birds including herons.

“Great University in a Beautiful Setting”

Overall
St. Andrews is a beautiful town, with three beaches and atmospheric ruins around every corner. The university is small enough that you feel like you are a valued member of the community. The International Relations course is really interesting, incorporating a wide range of topics and theories.

Do travel, it's so much easier to travel around in Europe while you're there. There is ample time during breaks.

Final comments
St Andrews is a lovely place and a wonderful university. Go to Edinburgh first and take a train, only one hour to get off at luchars railway satation. Take No.99 to St. Andrews bus station.
