“Great location and comfortable stay”

Overall

I stayed here during my semester abroad and really enjoyed it. The location is perfect for UniMelb students, just a short walk to campus. I had a private room with my own kitchen and bathroom, which made the stay very comfortable. There’s also a gym, BBQ area, and secure bicycle storage, which were ideal for me. The staff were always kind and approachable, and there was a great sense of community. Would definitely recommend!

Cons

Bit pricey, but fair considering the private facilities and location

I wish I had known...

It is cold in Melbourne in the winter (May-October). Especially indoors. I wasn't prepared for this. The lowest temperature I had in my apartment was +12 degrees celsius. So bring warm clothes!

Final comments

Be active and take part in all social events that are offered. That is the best way to make new friends. The university expects you to be active and initiative, but they also provide very good orientation services. Victoria is a beautiful state. See at least Wilsons Promontory!

If you decide to come to Melbourne choose Melbourne Uni! Travelling is a lot of fun in Australia. You will spend all you money on travelling. It was the best year of my life!

Enroll in the Universities Mountaineering Club and you will meet tons of locals and see all of Victoria. And check out the Universities surf-camp at the beginning of the semester!
