Stay away if you want to actually learn something

Overall
Academically-wise, terrible experience. Cheating is rampant, nobody is here to learn, just to get a piece of paper (diploma). Very few good professors, most are apathetic, boring and irresponsible, with some professors it's surprising how they were hired and allowed to teach in the first place. Also, harassment and inappropriate behavior is quite the norm - programs in Chinese and in English both suffer from this.
Dorms are filthy and disgusting - you will see cockroaches all the time, which is honestly quite surprising, I thought the area is better developed. Unfortunately, housing available for rent in the area is also filthy, old and ridden with cockroaches.
All-in-all, please do not repeat my mistakes and do not go here.

Speak with the local people, they will be very interested in foreigners speaking their language. You can make great friends with local shopowners and they will love to chat with you. It's also great practice!

Course recommendations
If you too have Chinese courses, do get prepared to be lost. You only get to understand after a few weeks of training. Some business courses are amazing, others have to be taken with more hindsight.

Nightclubs in Beijing are huge! They are about 3 times bigger than what you're used to, but mostly crowded on weekends, so better go during the week.

The 24 hour noodle restaurant across the street from campus was my favorite place to meet with friends and have a few beers.
