Please take my advice and I am also speaking for another 30 intl' students. If you are an European, please stay at home or move within Europe. I think in the past there has been a big deal about getting a degree in the US. But when I compared everything with my siblings and friends I was totally fooled and disappointed. The teachers suck except for perhapes two teachers that really thought me something (they were not americans, infact from India I believe).I have visited numerous uni's in the states and also found more or less the same. The quality is very low unless you go to an ivey league school such as MIT & Standford, but those unis are extremely expensive for us intl' student. I think we should also charged 300 percent to the americans when they come and study here. It is really not fare. I was paying 5000 dollars a semester whilst an american was paying 1300 dollars for same courses. IT IS A RIP OFF! PLus the quality of service is so low it hurts your feeling after paying so much money not to recieve good servive at the uni. The campus is so big and when you have to change class and walk 15 minutes in the 97 degrees heat with 100 percent humidity, it sucks, there were days I had to take showers 5 times a day because it was so hot. Europeans don't even take that much in 4 days! So my recommendation is that do not GO there!

Becareful of what you sign, read small prints, always call to verufy each and one of your bills, never ever be late on a payment, always have 1000 dollars reserve for emergencies because there will be alot! Don't try to eat too healthy it cost a fortune! Restaurants have roches and spiders in the kitchen, even the nice and expensive ones. Have an alarm on your car and apartment!!!!Don't give out your address to anyone or any company, you'll recieve too much direct markerting letters otherwise. Do not use your credit card on the internet. Do not fill out any promotion stuff such as writing your address and credit card numbers, please read the small print. Be ready to be hassled by the these hungry money loving ignorant inconsiderate businessmen, they are out there to rip you off. Do establish a relationship with a mexican mechanic, they are loyal! Don't trust indians on Harwin drive you are buying expensive stuff. Even when buying a new car becareful, read sm. prints. I don't know what else to say there is actually too much, I would love to give you a seminar before you leave and show you proof of my experience. Stay in Europe; we got the best here, the EC, euro, the free movements, education unis such as Solvay, INSEAD, LSC...Look at just the diff. cultures we have what a diversity!!! The American have no such culture, I looked for it for 5 years, no results except that dockers jeans, bassball hat and budweiser GET A LIFE! And yeah money money money all about the money no family values, never ever raise your children there they will truely end up like the people on jerry springer!!!Next thing you know your own blood is sewing you! Travel tips, did you know that you can be driving in Texas for 13 hours and still damn be in Texas. Als did you know that if you drive for 13 hours in Europe you'll at least pass by 5 different countries, not cities or american farm lands where they inject cows and chickens with hormons so that they get fat!!!! If you are driving don't wait till your tank is empty, and always have a spare tire with you. GOOD LUCK and all the best!!!

it offers a lot of courses, has a beautiful campus, it has an excellent program for the integration of international students. The dormitories are somewhat shabby, but it's ok, because you only have to sleep there :-)

It will get really hot in the summer, be aware of this. Stay longer after the semester finishes, rent a car, and do a trip through the states with a tent with some persons. There are a lot of good clean camping grounds and there is a lot to see in the US!

well I went to this university because I was living in this town but the recommendation is that the University of Houston is not that expensive for an American university so it's good if you want to study in the States without having to pay enormous fees.

I loved living in Houston, I can say it changed my life. After living for 3 years in this country I completely opened my mind to other cultures and to change. If you want any advice especially if you come from Europe: Get a car!!
