“The most significant experience of my life”

Overall
The most important thing Durham taught me was the global and objective view on global issues. Durham University is the place where I became a true citizen of the world. The basis of all courses was your own initiative and readiness to dig deep into the problem by yourself, though all the teachers were always supportive and ready to help. It has taught me to formulate my own opinions and positions clearly and make a good argument. The experience of studying there has also given me an understanding of different cultures and people that made me a person capable to understand different points of view and tolerate and accept everyone.

Durham University est très accueillant, avec beaucoup d'étudiants étrangers. La ville est trop belle et il y a beaucoup de choses à faire. Tous les étudiants sont membres d'un collège donc il est très facile à faire des amis.

It is best to get a student discount card for train travel at the start of the year, as using the trains is very, very expensive.

It is a very good university and has a large, postgraduate community. There are less international students at undergraduate level.

Final comments
It is definately a good university to attend for a year. Due to the small size of Durham, however, I am not sure I would like to stay any longer than that, as I am used to living in a big city.
