Minor problems at the beginning of the academmic year because I didn't know Dutch yet. Dutch is really easy to learn when you already know German.

Dutch was a difficult language to learn, not because of the nature of language itself, but because of the fact that it fluent english was spoken in all parts of the Netherlands.

I am still learning Dutch but overall one can easily stay in Amsterdam without learning dutch because of the cosmopolitan nature of the city.

A the beginning it was hard. After one week i knew a lot of people, from all around the world. Whit their help i improved my english in a very easy way, and very fast!

plenty of opportunity to learn dutch- courses offered by the uni, able to spend time with native students who were willing to help
