Universiteit Gent (RUG)

uGent is a fairly good university with a lot of campuses and mostly good professors. There are some professors who know a lot about their field but have insufficient teaching skills to work in a high school, let alone a university. The biggest problem with uGent is the bureaucracy and the indifference for their students as a result. During my year the board decided to change the curriculum which led to several credits we achieved becoming void. Instead of making a different curriculum for students who would be negatively impacted by the decision they responded by saying "sorry, that's just how things are now. We put it in our email". As a result most students had to complete several more courses to achieve the same degree as students from a year prior, some even had to take on a full extra year's worth of credits. This led to them graduating a year later.

I made the decision to start the advanced master of science in Global Health thanks to the fact that I found it in one of the best universities in the world. I moved from Mexico to Belgium for this dream and my experience has been wonderful.

The University of Gent has offered me a wide and deep knowledge about my area of ​​interest in Global Health, I have had the opportunity to work on health policies and projects.

The courses I take are very much linked to everything the European Union does, we learn the ins-and-outs of decision making, European diplomacy and rights.
