Pretty good for a short experience as mine was. But I would try to find an apartment if I had to stay longer since in "Collegio" I had to share my room. The lack of privacy is a huge disadvantage if you have other habits than your room mate. Besides that I missed having a kitchen! Eating in canteen everyday isn't so healthy and going to restaurants a pretty expensive solution. All the rest was cool. Specially the place itself: very beautiful and very well located. And the girls were very nice (it was a girls residence).

There are quite a few different halls in Pavia. I was in Golgi, where i had a single, en-suite room. There was a kitchen per floor (per 12 rooms) with full oven and hob, fridge, freezer. Bedding is provided for erasmus students and the communal areas are cleaned daily. The one thing it lacked was a decent social area.

Living in an appartment I had more liberties than in a residence. At the same time, as I lived with 4 other students (2 Italians, 2 Irish), I had the opportunity to get to know people from different countries.

The housing situation is difficult, if you want to live in a appartment you have to pay much. I prefer living in a college
