I already spoke sapnish before arriving and I was pleased to be able to learn the local expressions. Although Andalousian accent is a little different from the Madrid accent, you get used to it quite rapidly and it's charming.

You have to attend the "Curso para extranjeros" en september or februari organized by the university for international students. The best way to learn the language and get to know the other students.

I had studied Spanish already in High School in Finland,and in summer courses in Spain,as well by working as au-pair,so I knew the language and the country,and I wanted to learn more.
