“La Complutense como lugar ideal para estudiar”
Estefanía F
Italy, Undergraduate
Psychology and Behavioural Sciences, 2014
Overall

foos is cheaper, there is lots of competition. Accommodation was more expensive because normally i'm only in university for 24 weeks a year. I had to pay even for the weeks over christmas that i wasn't here. Nightlife goes on for the WHOLE night here, you just can't resist going out. I speny more on travel because normally i walk to my lectures, (Cambridge is not as big as Madrid!)

Final comments
Stay away as much as possible from things that prevent you from accomplishing your goals. For example, to learn Spanish, it is best to be with Spaniards who hardly speak your mother tongue. If you want a lot of freedom, rent your own place. And if you want to get the most out of your experience, don't try to save any money; spend your whole budget every month!!

The 2 best areas in Madrid must certainly be Lavapiès,which is the immigrant's area with splendid Middle-Eastern and Latin American bars, and the one of La Latina, which has a unique realxed party atmosphere with lots of outdoor amateur and professional concerts. The architecture of the houses and the relatively scarce traffic in these 2 areas favours also a night out in them.
