Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I liked having the freedom to decide where I wanted to live and the central location of the apartment I rented. I also enjoyed living with people in my age range as opposed to a family.

Housing is rumored to be difficult to find in Madrid, however I did not have any problems and found it to be much easier than in California. Don't let the rumors get you panicked into taking the first thing you find.

Overall
La carrera, como tal, es muy interesante. Si hay que sacar algún "pero", quizá sería la realización de prácticas. Creo que así es como se aprendería la verdadera profesión.

One can be independent and at the same time get to know other people, hopefully locals if you share an apartment.

Apparently the accomodation organised through the university is very bad and expensive. I was lucky to find something myself that was not too expensive centrally located and large and clean enough! The university itself is very old and the facilities need a lot of improvement!

International Relations

Spain, Undergraduate
International Relations, 2019
Overall
The study and practice of international relations is interdisciplinary in nature, blending the fields of
economics, history, and political science to examine topics such as human rights, global poverty,
the environment, economics, globalization, security, global ethics, and the political environment.
International relations (often referred to international affairs) has a broad purpose in
contemporary society, as it seeks to understand: The origins of war and the maintenance of peace,
the nature and exercise of power within the global system, the changing character of state and
non-state actors who participate in international decision-making.

During the week, I made my way around the Moncloa area of Madrid. Sol was also an area where many congregated and later cruised to a local bar or cafe. I do not recall the name of the best cafe that I visited, but the downstairs was beautifully decorated as a lounge with a see through glass floor. Events not to be missed: "as Ferias in Sevilla and the big annual celebration in Valencia.
