in madrid there are more bars and clubs than you could ever hope to visit in a lifetme!! huertas (around pl. santa ana) is an any-night-of-the-week party area, but can also be amongst the most expensive/crowded on weekends because it is the main tourist hang out. try tribunal or chueca for alternative bars and clubs.

Europa 15 de Telefonica. You can call every day 15 minutes to a country of the EU. For 1500 Pts./month. There exist a variety of call back cards which can be found in "locutorios" (private phone shops!).

The couple I lived with were very hospitable and we became good friends. They provided a great home away from home for me. I still keep in contact with them and could not have asked for a better arrangement.
