WInter time is perfect to get a Skirail (30 euros for train both ways and ski pass for a day) in many resorts close to toulouse. Best city in france for rugby, the team is awesome and everybody in town loves it, if you have a student card you get discount when buying tickets online.

There are a lot of cafes, but I liked to (irish) pubs the most, there is always a nice atmosphere. There are not only students going out, but you will find a lot of older people in while going out.

Even though campus housing was available I prefered to rent out my own flat in the center of the town...right in the heart of the old part of the city.

At my university I missed a bit the integration of the exchange students, that could have been better.
