Course recommendations
would have been useful to join courses of local students, but on the other hand, that would have been very difficult as well.

Belarus is a pretty repressed society and there are not a lot of nightclubs or bars to go to, besides much of the local population can't afford to spend money on things like that. You can however buy beer on any corner and just walk around the streets or sit in the park with your friends and your drinks!

you have to take all cash money from home, there are no cash dispensers. on top of this, you have to get the local valuta via the black market, otherwise you get it at a rate at least 2 times as low

You don't need to graduate from university to learn a language, you can take courses.
Of course we had a lot of different subjects, but superficially.
I expected more.

Hey, I studied in MGLU for 14 months and I do not recommend it! The professors are very good, but the administration is bureaucratic and unhelpful. If you ever have a problem, you can be sure they will make your life as difficult as they can, with no temptation of actually solving it. Professor Rudenko was a lowlight of my stay in Minsk.
