Two languages are spoken in Belarus, Belarusian and Russian. I studied both. My classes were mostly in Russian and Russian is the language mainly spoken in Minsk. In addition I studied Belarusian but didn't really use it in day to day life

Foreign students beware. The Russian language department is run by a bunch of scammers and thieves, the teachers are mostly okay people but the administration is all trying to rip you off in anyway possible. I don't know how they treat the local Belarusian students in this regard but they will try to suck every cent from you and they will delay repayments and to avoid refunding you if you have to leave Belarus for an emergency. Don't study here, they can't be trusted.
