at the beginning it was quite difficult to follow the lessons and speak the professors. Now I can speak fluently, I have no problems with the language.

This is a dutch speaking region and university, but you can communicate everywhere in English without any problem! But regarding the communication with the people, this would not go farther than asking a question and getting your answer. Don't expect any further communication!

I have never met anyone in Flanders who did not speak or at least try and communicate with me in English. THey are an exteremly flexible people.

most of the locals in leuven speak english so i had no problem in communication

I spoke english at the university and in my job at Janssen Pharmaceutica. My French got improved as well, just my Flemish kept being weak
