I would recommend this place for learning majors of job

Overall
The quality of the learning environment here is very good and I think it corresponds to the amount of money spent.  The teaching programs are really effective and can help international students like me work smoothly in a Japanese school.  The point that impressed me the most was the modernity of the equipment the school provided and the buildings looked truly majestic and modern in the style of luxury places.  Also Japanese students will more or less talk to you although this is not too much.  Teachers and everyone are very enthusiastic and friendly

The way Japan is, there are so many places in very small spaces, so even after a year there are still unexplored corners, but not always the most open to illiterate foriegners. Don't miss the fall school festival. They say every university in Japan has one just like it, but I bet no where else in the world has anything that quite resembles it. Keep your ears open about festivals. Just go because it isn't like you can go "next time". Make friends, infiltrate, find the new clubs in the deep creveces of Shinsaibashi and Umeda until Lonely Planet just becomes some sappy substitute for your new urban orientation.

Course recommendations
Dr. Paul Scott is one of the most incredible individuals I have ever met. If I ever have the time, I intend to return and audit a class under him. Take ANYTHING...you won't be disappointed. If you learn language in a total immersion setting, however, be prepared...most language is taught in English. After learning Mandarin in the backstreets of Shanghai, I simply could not pick up Japanese in a classroom that communicated in English.

Teach Japanese courses in Japanese with teachers that do not speak English. Although I hated my language course, the rest of my academic experiences more than made up for it.

This university is good because there are a fair range of business courses if you happen to major in business. The japanese courses are excellent, they really try to make us learn the language.

If you can, know at least some basic Japanese. It really will help as you go outside the campus. The staff at the university speaks good English and will help you. But other Japanese people's English are not very good and you might have some hard time communicating with them, not so much in Hirakata, but in other places.

I wish I had known...
Yes, I wish I had known that the International Insurence we purchased abroad is not good unless you carry cash, because hospitals in Japan charge for their services in cash at the moment, and if it is an emergency and you don't have cash you will run into trouble. Is better to purchase Japanese National Health Insurance which coverr 70% of the treatments.

Get a map of Japan in your native languiage before you come, specially with train routes, subways and JR because everything here is in Japanese.

Undertaking a home stay was a great experience. My host family and I got along together really well, and we did many different things together. They also took a strong personal interest in me, and my experiences in Japan. I was really fortunate to get to know them. Living with a family also helped to improve my Japanese rapidly. In addition, my host family's home was comfortable and conveniently located near my campus, the station, a few shops, restaurants and bars.
