Personal comments
I used the english language in India. Within the country, not everybody can speak english and furthermore there are a lot of different languages so it was difficult in some situations but finally you always can understand each other.
At the university, it was quite difficult at the beginning because of the Indian accent. But, with the time, you become use to it.

As the nightlife in Bangalore is very restricted, Bars are just allowed to open until 11 pm and only some clubs, which are really expensive, have to close at 00:30 at the latest, nightlife is not really good in Bangalore, but there are parties on the campus approximately every 3 weeks. You find some clubs and bars in Bangalore as for example, Nasa, Fushion Club.

I wish I had known...
limited interaction with local students. 39 exchange students on the campus. i decided from day one that i wanted to be only with indians. i was the only one with plenty of friends outside of the campus. and strangely enough, i had an indian boyfriend... it usually never happens.

Apart from the rooms in K and L Block, the rooms are quite basic but OK, staying in a block near the L-Square, where parties take place quite often, can be quite noisy, all the other blocks are OK but best to stay is in K or L because the blocks are newly built just 5 years, or so, ago. The campus is fantastic, although the city is really crowded, dirty and pollutet, the campus is like paradise, quite, calm, natural and really big.
