Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
The university has no on-campus housing, so international students must live off campus, either in Haarlem which is about 1.4KM from the school or in Zandvoort which is 10KM from the school.

Personal comments
There are two cities to live in: Haarlem and Zandvoort. Haarlem is closer to the school, has a larger downtown than Zandvoort, and has larger rooms. But Zandvoort is right on the North Sea, so in the warmer monthes, it has the vibe of a resort town, with dozens of beach clubs, and packed nightclubs. Additionally the housing in Zandvoort is nice because the rooms all have connecting decks and huge windows overlooking the city.

Travel, Activities, Nightlife: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal social experience
Personal comments
It is easy to find a local sportsclub there and become a member. It is defenately worth to to make a round trip around the city and get to know the local students. This way, you will have a personal guide and also someone, who can who could be supportive for studying the native language.

Course recommendations
In order to have more free time (for instance for an internship), it is more interesting to take most of the courses during the first semester!
Students really have to choose the Music Business Class! It was my favourite one!

It is a good idea to buy a discount card for train trips. It costs about 50€, and it gives you a 50% discount in every train ticket taht you buy. TRAIN TICKETS ARE REALLY EXPENSIVE!!!
If you love arts, you can get a Museum card which allows you to enter most museums for free.

I enjoyed studying there, and I was happy to be accepted at this university than to be accepted in Amsterdam HES. Academically, this university offers you everything you need.
