I wish I had known...
I'd wish I had been more familiar with the American educational system and American way of life in general. It took me over six months to understand and become familiar with the country. I think I'd had been much better off had I known what I was going to find in the US before hand.

Decide before hand which courses you'd like to take. Don't hesitate to ask professors for the syllabus and talk to them if you have any doubts.

Undergraduate Class of 2022 Sets New Salary Records

Rachel Morgan Ellis

January 23, 2023

Following their graduation in May, the Class of 2022 achieved record-breaking employment results in Georgetown McDonough’s Undergraduate Program, earning an average salary of $96,916, up from $85,213 last year, and an average signing bonus of $9,652.

According to the 2022 Undergraduate Employment Report, 98% of students seeking employment received an offer within three months of graduation, and their average starting salaries increased 14% from the previous year.

“This year’s Undergraduate Employment Report is a result of the hard work and resilience of the Class of 2022, who remained committed to the career exploration process and never lost sight of their academic and career-related goals,” said Talia Schatz, assistant dean of the Undergraduate Career Development Center. “We are proud to highlight their success in this year’s report and we look forward to seeing what they accomplish in their current positions and beyond.”

Graduates primarily sought employment in financial services (57%) and consulting (18%), with additional interest across accounting (4%), technology (4%), and real estate (4%). The top employers included Amazon, Bain and Company, Bank of America, Blackstone, Bloomingdales, Citigroup, Credit Suisse, JPMorgan Chase, KPMG, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley, and PwC.

The majority of undergraduate students completed an experiential learning component during their program, with 97% securing internships prior to graduation. Internships, in addition to the variety of programs and treks offered by the McDonough Undergraduate Career Development Center, help undergraduate students explore various career paths and identify post-graduate opportunities.

I encourage students to get good information on insurance and banking. These are usually the most difficult issues students have to deal with abroad.

It was a quite big double room and they matched me with a roommate I got along really well. In addition, there was the possibility to use the common kitchen on our floor.
