Berlin can be a hassle if you life far out of the city. Living somewhat close to city center is not that expensive and saves you lots of time on the subway.

finding student accomodation throug the uni might be the best option at the start because youll meet a lot of new people. For a longer stay you may look for your own appartment since its quite affordable.
