I wish I had known...
I think I am quite satisfied about how things went. I didn't have much expectations about the year and I don't think that I would have done anything differently.

The FHW-Berlin has a very nice, open atmosphere. It is a small university and the contact between the international students is very good. The contact with locals is more difficult, also because of the fact that most of local students work and study at the same time. The professors are helpful. The educational system is quite theoretical, but the exams are not too difficult. I think it is certainly worthwhile to go to Berlin and study at the FHW

I don't think it is usefull to sum up some tips or advices. That depends on the country the guest student is coming from. As an EU-student I didn't have much trouble at all. It is also very easy to find a room yourself in Berlin. The best thing to do, is have a look on the website of the FHW: www.fhw-berlin.de or contact the international coordinator at your home university

for international students, most of them will find the life in berlin is quite a new experience, but do not spend so much money on partying and drinking, since it´s very cheap here!
but nevertheless, berlin is awesome and i´ll always love to come back again

continue the erasmus programme the way it is right now, but maybe try in organise more social events for both erasmus and host students on a continuous basis. I know students are there primarily to study, but i feel thats one side of FHTW life which was neglected, a social scene with host students and not just international ones.

don't just hang around with people you knew before you arrived.
make the effort to speak German. If you don't, you'll regret it later when you're at home and its exam time, or else you'll regret it when you return to Germany in later years.
the public transport system is easy to follw, maybe print off a copy of the map of Berlin, bus, u&s-bahns and trams before you arrive so as to familiarise yourself with your new home
finally, speak to the students who were there in previous years, let them share their experiences with you and ask them any questions you feel might benifit you for your GFerman adventure.

It is almost a private university, its so little. Which makes it calm and peaceful to work there every day in the week.

I was already kind of used to live in another country. But I saw that a lot of people became home-sick. I do not know if there is a solution for that...

FHW Berlin has a nice and helpful international office staff, instructors are mostly friendly and have a good level of English. It is a great place to be an Erasmus student.

Berlin is awesome, one of the best places in Europe to be a student. Use schönes wochenende train ticket and travel around Germany. Follow up international office's travel arrangements and enjoy! Also eat lots of Döner and go to Pergamon Museum.

“Duales Studium im Bereich Business Administration”

Overall
