Housing
Type of housing: Dorms, off campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Same as I lived in
Why?
Most exchange students live in the I-House, the dorm that I stayed in. As such, you get to know all the students pretty well and always have people to hang out with.

Personal comments
The I-house is a 10-15 minute walk and probably the best choice if you are btwn 19-25 years, any older and you'll feel like a mom or dad as it is the centre for parties and hanging out

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
'cause in a campus you can never be alone (even for a moment), and sometimes it's dificult to study!! however an apartment very near the campus, 'cause I could't live without "social life"

Why?
Less comfort and space, but more contact with other students

Personal comments
I was proposed housing by the university, which I declined because it was too small, probably noisy. I did select alternative housing myself, but allthough more comfortable, it was also quite expensive and it limited my contacts with other students, because of increased travel times.

since accomodation is really rare in rotterdam, make sure to engage in that really early. the university helps but u have to apply for that help really early since they have only limited accomodations at their disposal. if u are too late u have to look for urself.

I wish I had taken my Spanish seriously. It would be a plus factor to know another language aside from English.

Erasmus University is one of the best schools in Europe. It has a diverse environment and any foreign student will easily feel at home. The city (Rotterdam) is very vibrant and has a laid back student atmosphere very conjucive for learning.

It is wise to plan out your stay abroad by visiting other countries (if possible). It will save the student money if you book in advance. Also, it is wise to travel to the farthest country you wish to visit when you have a longer vacation (1 week) to maximize the trip.
