To there from France, the bus (Eurolines) is quite cheap but also long and tiring, otherwise planes are not bad but you cannot bring too much luggageswith you.
It's easy to go travelling in the other scandinavian countries where you are there bt also really expensive.

look out for the 'whats on' guide in english every month - this tells you about all the concerts and performances that are happening. also most of the nightclubs have a night when entry is free... a good way to say some kroner

Be able to ask Accommodation Office of university to live in Campus Village. In general, they look for and suggest any kind of accommodation for you (family, house, room, campus, etc.), and if you don't accept his suggestion, you have to look for on your own.

If you are studying any kind of engineering, Danmarks Tekniske Universitet in Lyngby (10 kms from Copenhagen) is your university: Very good teaching method, media easily accesible, library, etc. This university cares about international students: It offers an introduction week before starting every semester, where you can meet other international students. A Danish student was assigned in order to help me in every problem I had and finally we become friends.

Travel as much as you can, Erasmus year is time to get to know other places, cultures and life styles (Denmark is very well located between Scandinavia and center Europe). Try to meet international friends, your English will improve surprisingly. Despite general opinions, you can find very very friendly people in Denmark, but you have to be prepared to meet the opposite: Very cold Danish people, who don't want to talk to you or become your friend. However, my main advice is you have to enjoy Erasmus experience staying abroad the whole year!!!

Get a buddy and go to the international students meetings at the university. On 22 June, go to the beach and see the burning of the witch.

I had my own expectations, as a mature student, when I had decided to come here for a Masters degree. Most of the academic expectations were fulfilled.

A very good university. I regard the two years here as very rewarding.
As a student here, you will have a high degree of freedom in tailouring your own curriculum. This is a very attractive feature of this university. However, be careful to make sure that you possess all the pre-requisites. In particular, those relating to assumed pre-existing knowledge and competencies.

The university is excellent and I believe that during the two-year MSc. program I enabled myself to become a better, more skilled engineer.
However, people contemplating coming to Denmark should consider a very important factor relating to life in Denmark: Your contact will almost always be restricted to other foreigners. It is very hard to get to know Danes.
More disturbing than anything else, was the overall attitude of many Danes to foreigners. it sickening to read and hear on a daily basis what Danish people think about people coming from other countries. Most did not want to have anything to do with them.
The situation is considerably worse if your appearance is non-Nordic. Arabs, along with any darker skinned persons, are in particular perceived as trouble makers, as parasites, as useless people. The racist and prejudicial terms used by too many Danes to describe their attitude would not be acceptable in most countries!
Prejudice, if not sheer hatred, is evident in many spheres. Some clubs will not hesitate to filter out, at the entrance, people who don't look Danish. Even at the university, foreigners who wander by mistake to a party which had not been designated for the "International students", will feel very fast how their presence is unwanted. Many people would not like to rent out rooms to foreigners. In more extreme cases, you will be told to "go home". It is a shocking revelation to many of the longer-term visitors to his country. However, I have never encountered violent (in the physical sense) manifestations of hatred of foreigners.

Danes are not "cold people", but is important to have in mind that is harder to get closer to them then to a south european. People should not give up from what they get in the first impression.

Every service works in a very good way. It was only sad that not all the students could experience living inside the campus, which is great.

regarding the university itself everything works well. The international students have acess to all facilities, there are lots of courses teached in english, etc.
Denmark is a great country to live for a foreinger, everyone speaks english, there is a health system that can provide all the health cares for free. Is also a country where people have, generaly, a liberal mentalety and that is good when we are not from there.
Geographicly, Denmark is in a good position if people are planing to travel around. Is very easy to travel around the nordic countries (scanrail is a good way to do it); there are ferries to several countries, namely germany, the baltic countries, Poland, Norway, etc. The cheapest way to travel usualy is by bus, is easy to find trips for almost all the countries in Europe and book them online in www.eurolines.dk. Also inside Denmark are great places to see, with great landscapes, is really a beautiful country!
