The academic strike was a surprise and required increased spending. As there were no classes it was best to enjoy the city and country. It would work out cheaper to move off of campus and live in a shared house, this would also give greater eating options and enable full enjoyment of the city.

I did lots of journeys: New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Montreal, etc - therefore I would recommend to rent a car.
