Yonsei University

Courses are NO joke. If you are in a curve class and have Johnny the A++ kid you are (excuse the word) f**'d hahahaha. He will totally ruin the class curve for everyone. The classes are hard, but worth the work....it def teaches you the educational culture in this country and how it differs from your own (at least mine did...in America its safe to say many colleges spoon feed you compared to Yonsei...It's a drastic change) NO interaction with local students unless you HAD to be or got paired into a group together..Or else they would've chosen each other. CLASSES ARE IN ENGLISH THOUGH HOLLLLLA!

I would've appreciated having the opportunity to meet more Poli Sci majors who were native to the school who I could've studied with...Only because sometimes like I said you feel at times as a foreigner isolated so they forget to include you.

Register for all the courses you'd like to take; you can drop some of them during the first week. Although a lot of the Yonsei professors are Ivy League Ph.D.s, others don't speak English too well or tend to love to hear themselves talk all the time.

Clarifying the grading criteria.

grading is stricter on finals and mid-terms than other times in the semester... not sure why that is. make sure spelling is perfect... if your native language isn't korean, this can be difficult at times (they'll nickel and dime you out of points).

Yonsei University and its Graduate School of International Studies offer many courses in five general areas: International Cooperation (Foreign Policy and Security - also my field), International Trade Policy,International Management, and Area Studies (Japanese, Korean, American). The courses are taught by top professors who are valued worldwide, and provide a good challenge to anyone who wants to really learn something.

There are a lot of choices, so take your time and read the syllabus ahead of time before you choose.

The foreign language instruction could have been more informational.

If you are a senior, you can take a graduate course. I recommend doing that. It is intellectually rewarding and there's not much of a workload.
