I wish I had known...
I wish I knew that the picture of the castle on the brochure that the school sent to me, was not the school itself, but a picture from a castle in Gent. The moment I saw the UCO tower, I was dissappointed to know that there was no castle like building in which the school was situated. But then again, it was just a shock that lasted for a couple of hours and in coming students should not worry regarding this aspects because the school is moving to a real turnaround location at the Reep. It is finally going to be almost a castle.

Personal recommendation
The school is welcoming International students for the last two years and is still evolving out of being a very locally oriented one. What I will recommend is that the school should encourage an International Students' Organisation, to facilitate the communication.

This was the best year of my life. The kind of people that I met here will ordinarily have been completely missed out from my life, had I not chosen to come to this country, the one that I will forever call my second home. I have been loved so much by my class. Even had a nickname and a personal song, which I am sure, the class would sing, every time we meet in the future. I loved each and every moment of it. I advice anyone who wishes to come to Vlerick to be sure that hardwork and socialising will go hand in hand and one better be prepared for an unforgettable experience.

I wish I had known...
Wish I knew how to drink litres and litres of beer per night and go out until 7 in the morning, and be back in class at 9am! But seriously, you should know how to balance social and academic life... that's no secret no matter where you are in the world.

Very good school, improving every year - next year they will be located in a beautiful monastary! Honestly, I can't decide whether I have learnt more about life or more about business.

Just bear in mind that students at Vlerick are not representative of the average Belgian citizen - they are the cream of the crop... and they know it! :) Embrace every opportunity that comes your way - there will be plenty of them!!

A taste of everything in Management
Shreya V

Overall
Currently, pursuing a Masters in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Vlerick Business School on the Leuven campus, I was able to get a taste of not just the management principles but also understand a scientific method to develop and build a start-up. Vlerick's approach is based on action learning and working in teams as well as developing leadership capabilities.

Great for international study program but limited in international career
Sumathi R
Belgium, Graduate
Business Studies, 2018
Overall
VBS is a good school with comparable study program for core modules. It has a good mix of international students making it much more interesting. Due to its small sized class teachers are focused and academic feedback is quick. Most of the teachers are are very friendly, approachable and helpful (except for few odd ones). Very fast paced classes

The key standout are the international trips. But it can burn your pocket if you don't plan your finances before hand because all of these costs are additional to the program fee. Entire MBA schedule was badly planned leaving absolutely no flexibility for personal life or extra curricular activities.

Pros
Scholarships and international trips (extra cost)
Cons
The school does not have a strong associations with companies and alumni, in-spite of how its advertised. Getting a job for internationals who do not speak French or Dutch is next to impossible and highly challenging. Not much extra curricular activities.
