good food (fresh veggies, lean chicken etc) is really expensive. the exchange program tho gave me housing and a total coverage at the dining center for a pretty small sum of money which balanced it out. And calling home wasnt a problem thanks to skype

Personal spending habits
because housing and food are more expensive. there is no real student advantage when you travel compared to europe (no 12-25 years train card for example or this kind). usually means of transportation are expensive and the best way is to have your own car
