This is a very good university, with a great atmosphere and very friendly teachers and people. Everything is new and there is a lot of light (just like in all houses) due to the big windows on the walls. People gather in the canteen every time and use it as a study and chat place. It is quite nice to be there at all times, since you are often with the other ERASMUS and Danish students in a relaxing environment (there is a piano and table soccer everyone can play). Class rooms, computer rooms, toilets and canteen are quite good.

ERASMUS was an incredible experience for me and for my friends at all levels. You make a lot of new friends from all over the world, you have contacts all over Europe for the future, you get extremely independent, you learn a lot about life and you grow as a person, you experience many new things you would never experience in a normal environment, you face the unknown, you loose your fears, you improve your English, you get ready to work in an international environment, you fall in love, you party like never before and you carry memories you will never forget. In Horsens or everywhere else, everyone should definitely experience ERASMUS.

“a great place to get educated and get to real stuff”

Overall
I am thoroughly enjoying my time at VIA University College in Horsens. The campus is modern and equipped with excellent facilities that make learning engaging and hands-on. The mechanical engineering program is top-notch, with knowledgeable professors who bring real-world experience into the classroom. One of the best parts is the diverse student body, which creates a rich, multicultural environment perfect for making new friends and gaining different perspectives. Horsens itself is a charming town with plenty to do, ensuring a balanced and enjoyable student life. Overall, VIA University College has been a fantastic place for both personal and academic growth.

I wish I was more informed about Denmark and specially Horsens. Horsens a really small city and nothing happens there, but the Erasmus/student life is really good.

Vitus Bering is a small university but I enjoyed a lot studying there. The relationship between student and teacher is really good.

I chose Denmark because I wanted to go to a country with a completely diferent culture than Portugal. I succeded on that. I had the opportunity to travel from Portugal to Denmark by car, it was an unforgetable experience. I visited some friends doing Erasmus in big cities like Barcelona and Prague and I realised that studying abroad in a small city and living on Campus is much better because this way you will have a really good relationship with all the other international students. Denmark is a really nice country, I recommend to travel and meet all of it. Be really carefull with your money because Visa Electron cards are not accepted there. I enjoyed it a lot, I recommend Horsens for your Erasmus studies and Scandinavia for good travel trips.

The best airport to travel from Horsens is Billund. It is really close and you can find a lot of cheap flights from there.
If you chose your dormitory- Kamtjatka is about 4km from the school, but it is in the city center. Student village is right next to the school, the stanard is higher, but it's away from the center and it's more expensive.

“practical studying”

Denmark, Graduate

Overall
All lecturers tend to present a subject with real life examples, lessons are usually presenting real cases and real problems, rather than just theoretical problems.
Every semester there is a mandatory "semester project" involving a Danish company, where students go for company visits, disscuss issues with company's manager and are then presented with a case about the company. Solution for a problem presented in the case has to be made in groups of 3-5 people.

Pros
no studying by heart, but by understanding
