Katowice is not the nicest place in Poland. Dont be dissapointed by its industrial charm. Close cities like Krakow and Wroclaw will win your heart though, I promise !

The situation differs on different departments. There are better and worse. The best are definitely law and linguistics and on those faculties, standards of education are quite high.
