The housing is amazingly cheap. Around 60-70 euros per month. But it is like living in a crappz hotel very far from the centre and sharing a room with somebody. And if you plan to cook, live somewhere else...

If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
Because for the same price to stay in a dorm (which is usually small and far away from the city center) I could have a nice house.

Housing
Type of housing: Dorm off campus
Arranged by: Home university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
The dorms (Kolej Komenskeho) were very depressing and clearly communist-inspired. They were alright and there were lots of cool people, though.

Not too bad, two tram stops from the Charles Castle. Not really in the cheap part of town food-wise, but close to Maly Budda.

Final comments
Do not expect to be welcomed with open arms; it take's time to get along with the locals who do not specially give a damn to your international experiences. They are a bit inwards-looking people.

I really enjoyed a jazz club called U Maleho Glena (At Little Glen's) that featured live jazz/blues every night in a tiny but cozy downstairs room. Bar Bar was my favorite, relaxed bar and a really good spot to chat or have lively debates with friends. Club Vagon was a good rock club. German and Eastern European bands were features along with cover bands of the Beatles, the Stones, and Nirvana. The beer here was very cheap and the crowd was twentysomethings.
