Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I shared an apartment with an Ucranian girl who studied languages and we really get on well together. Our apartment had a big kitchen where we used to cook and have dinner together. Moreover, it was located quite close to my University so I could bike for 10 minutes everyday. I really felt like being at home!

At the begining it was quite diffucult to find a good place to stay in so I lived for more than a week in a hostel. However, I get in touch with student organizations that really help me with my flat hunting acting as translators from slovene language to english.

the university provides student doms (room sharing) for cheap, for about half students. they try and help the others find something. they wont let you down in a hotel for long. Ive had good and bad housing experiences, Ive lived in 4 different places in a year. But I know the city perfectly, great souvenirs, always possible to have some extra people crashing in the country without notice. Ive had some really odd flatmates, but they taught me rather OK slovenian

I really enjoyed living with other students. I shared a little room with Slovenian girl and we became very good friends. I became much more social and flexible after living in a student campus . Also that way I met a lot of Slovenian people and got more touched to Slovenian culture. Otherwise I would have been only with other exchange students.

I was living in the biggest student campus in Ljubljana. My dormitory was in good condition and people were friendly and peaceful. The rent was very cheap for me. I was satisfied for the housing.
