Course recommendations
Although being a business major, I did take some courses at the political science dept., since I had the option. So I would definitely recommend looking outside ones immediate degree.

Personal comments
The compulsory attendance, the essays throughout the course and the huge amount of literature were perfect for me to improve my english. but I wouldn't like this system in my home country.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Co-op or "off-campus" housing
Why?
The Saxony is the accommodation most recommended by the business school. most of the foreign students live there, which is fun. however, this place is incredibly expensive, cheaper opportunities can be found easily. for example, you can find tons of newspaper announcement, searching for a sublet. go for alternatives, after all, most of the exchange students actually want to live with natives.

Personal comments
sublets can be found, even in fall semester, which is more packed. the business school doesn't encourage alternatives to the save (but expensive) choice "Saxony"

Nightlife is pretty cheap in Madison. But the only grocery store close to my appartment is quite expensive and the closest supermarket about a 30 min bus ride away.
