Languages
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my English
How much did you improve your English?
My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.)
My level after: At ease in most situations
Language difficulties
Administrative / Institutional
Personal comments
I think my language abilities have improved. I was not that bad before the exchange semester, but in a foreign country every day you are confronted with another language so you automatically start to think in another language.

“Southampton is the place to be!”
Matthew H
United Kingdom, Undergraduate
, 2018
Overall
The university of Southampton is one of the most diverse universities I have been to. Located on the south coast of England there is plenty to do outside of lectures. The new forest national park is a short drive away and the coast even closer. There are plenty of amenities being so close to the city centre with plenty of restaurants, shops, cinemas and more.
The campus itself is lovley. It has been maintained to a high standard and covers a large area. There is plenty of bus links between campus’s and if you need to commute from your accommodation there are many options to choose from. Whatever course you end up choosing Southampton university will not disappoint.
