Johanna B
Belgium, Undergraduate
Communication and Information Sciences, 2018
Overall
This is a distance learning institution which has been in the business for almost 150 years. Then university is very organised. It has a portal for registered students through which students access learning materials, get academic support and hand in assignments. It works very well. I am busy with my last 3 modules to complete the degree and I never had problems.

UNISA enabled me to work and study at the same time.
pauline n
South Africa, Graduate
Economics, 2013
Overall
For my undergraduate degree i lacked a proper guidance on the selection of modules. I wasn't fully informed that in order for me to qualify  for post graduate in economics i needed to have a proper foundation in statistics and quantitative analysis. I only did one module in my first year. I only realised the importance of those modules on my own when i was preparing to apply for my post graduate. All other universities couldn't accept my application.

I wish I had known...
How easy it is to apply, I made a big deal of it at first. What a difference it makes when one gets ahold of the right person at UNISA.

Complete administrative incompetence
John L
South Africa, Undergraduate
, 1998
Overall
I have been trying to get my academic record from UNISA for the last six weeks, without success. I graduated in 1998 with all fees settled.

The level of sheer incompetence and ignorance I have encountered is staggering. I have been passed around to at least 5 different consultants with none of them managing to send me a simple academic record. All I have received is grammatically incorrect, mispelled emails telling me I have been sent my record when I haven't!

No wonder the university is now under administration. Good luck dealing with this institution - you'll need it!
