it was interesting to be exposed to a few languages in south africa, though too much focus on afrikaans when 75% of south africa is black and their mother tongue is not afrikaans!
things were more expensive in this part of africa than in montreal, but not ridiculously so, except for the tuition.

visas were pricey, as was health care and lodging, although if you are willing to wait all day at a free clinic, the doctors and nurses will take care of you!
