“Great experience at University.. Some flaws however”

In my first year of university in Liverpool l experienced so much. I made friends very easily and learnt a lot about the city, which has so much to offer students. I study french and Italian and I find the languages department a very good part of the university. The french department does need to work on its communication with students and I also think they need to reassess their expectations of workload for the students. The Malian department is remarkable, I cannot fault the lecturers who come to every lesson, even in lockdown with a happy countenance and a friendly composition. Overall I would recommend the University of Liverpool.

Having just finished my first year, everything so far at the university seemed designed to provide the best student experience possible.
Modules were well taught, with many resources made available online, seminars, and the opportunity to book slots with the lecturers themselves if necessary.
It was common for surveys to be carried out halfway through modules and also when they were completed, what suggests lecturers were interested in students' opinions and looking for areas to improve.

All my interactions with the careers office so far were very positive, with career coaches helping me with CVs and cover letters, and directing me to excellent online resources where appropriate.

I enjoy my course so far. I imagine I will enjoy it the most when I get to go abroad in my third year. There is a career studio at the university who are really helpful with things for the year abroad such as CV checks and references or even just helping you look for ideas of what you want to do with your degree.
