You have to get involved in societies if you want to meet people, because there are so many students you could stay on your own if you don't go meet people.

Advice: keep in touch with your family and friends from your home country without going back there too much, to be able to fully live the experience. Watch out sterotypes and make too many sweeping statements.

London is very near, you should use that. I went to Cornwall and Scotland from there and had great fun! Try to get a private insurance that insures you in a foreign country. The NHS treatment at the medical centre is a joke. Better go somewhere private.

There is a lot of support available both for studying and adapting to a new life. The best thing is to try and enjoy your time while doing your best with academic duties.
