Advice: keep in touch with your family and friends from your home country without going back there too much, to be able to fully live the experience.

Understanding lectures and teachers has been easier than interacting with students sometimes. It took me a while before I could feel at ease with groups of peers. Many social activities helped me with that.

London is very near, you should use that.
I went to Cornwall and Scotland from there and had great fun!
Try to get a private insurance that insures you in a foreign country. The NHS treatment at the medical centre is a joke. Better go somewhere private.
