the required books - even on a second-hand basis - are pretty expensive, institutes or libraries are very friendly - easy to check out books but I have to be quick, only limited number of books available!

I like the space and the contact to apartment-mates, but still having my own room to work in and do private stuff. And it´s cheaper...

Accommodation in the US is generally more expensive than in Europe, so I had to accept it and deal with it. On-campus facilities are more expensive than those off campus. Living off campus isn´t really a problem though since Champaign has an excellent public transport system.

Maybe the weather, I knew it was going be very cold but not so cold. Well, I am from Panama where is always hot. But, Urbana Champaign is a really nice place and it has a study environment, so in the overall I was very happy studying there.

I recommend it to everybody. It is a good and safe place. It has nice people and a lot of international students, but the most important, is that law school is very good and it has a very good faculty, willing to help international students.

If you go to University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, you wont feel alone. It is a students place, so wherever you go, you will find students. It has a nice community and it is one of the best universities in the US. At least in law it is very good.

if you are in the same program i was, don't worry about the choice of courses before you get there. you'll have to take what's left anyway, because locals book their courses about 4 months before you can. you'll find satisfying courses though, so don't worry and be flexible!

the courses are evaluated in a different way than they do it in austria, but it's probably the better one...
